Objective
- Participants will be able to practice talking with each other and get to know each other’s names. You can also provide a quick check-in on a particular topic.
Procedure
- Organize participants in a circle.
- Go around the circle and have everyone say their name.
- Begin with one soft object and say the first word that comes to your mind; then say a person’s name and toss the object to them.
- Continue this process until everyone has had a turn.
Variation
- On a virtual platform, ask participants to be in gallery view.
- Begin with one person saying the first word that comes to mind, then quickly “passing” to another person by saying their name.
- Process repeats until everyone has had a turn
- You can open up the process by allowing participants to say any word, or you can select a topic related to what you have been learning.
